The Dobwalls and Trewidland Neighbourhood Development Plan has been given a resounding “yes” vote in the referendum held on Thursday, April 4.
Voters who live in the plan area were asked the question: “Do you want Cornwall Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Dobwalls and Trewidland to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”
343 said “Yes” (91.46% of those who voted), 32 said “No” (8.53%), that’s a majority in favour of 311. Around 1850 people were entitled to vote, so the percentage turn-out was 20.39%.
Cornwall Council will now have to refer to the policies in the plan when it considers proposals for anywhere in the plan area. The plan is in place until the year 2030.
